happy happy joy

Hey, have you ever felt sad for no apparent reason at all? You just feel sad and down all of a sudden, and then you try to think of reasons for your sadness, but you just cannot pinpoint which event or person is responsible? This has probably happened to us a lot of times, especially when we're staying home, and doing almost nothing productive. We tend to sometimes be too reflective about things that we end up with so much clutter in our minds.

However, don't you think that it really is in those quiet times that we really get to sort out what we are thinking? We have often been advised by our friends to always find quiet time for ourselves, to sort out things and to really know what is going on both around and within us.

If in those quiet times, we can either sort out our thoughts, or mess them up even more, what does this tell us? I guess it all boils down to what we decide to think. It all boils down to our decisions. With this little conclusion, I'm thinking that maybe we don't even need quiet time to help us out. We can help ourselves out by choosing what to think for ourselves, and letting our emotions follow. But we are mere humans almost perpetually affected by nature. Maybe we still have to choose the right environment for our thoughts.

I'm trying to discover what's the best way to make ourselves happy. Happiness may be thought of as a thought, but it really is what we strive for in life. Knowing that happiness is a thought can make us happier people by choosing to simply be happy, by thinking of the right things, and doing whatever makes us happy.

I guess the challenge now is to find what really makes us happy. Believe me, even if happiness is a simple thought, different things really make us tick, and despite our efforts to try, we cannot force ourselves to be happy with things we do not like. Therefore, we need the proper guidance through prayer. If you cannot pray due to some belief, think of praying as an exercise of thought. I would not choose to though. But if you choose to, beware of probable mind cluttering.

mikee! i agree with you. in those quiet times, we're able to reflect about some stuff that may be bothering us...we try to find out/ trace the real cause why we feel happy or sad. in addition to that, in those quiet times, we can find peace, happiness, and relaxation as well...=) nice entry mikee! very reflective! =) -dana c.

iagree, mikee.

gets ba?

hahahaha...:D [labo-mode.]

hmmm. very insightful mikee. that really made me think since for the past months, the thing my psych teacher drilled into my mind is "happiness is just a thought away" and it kind of grew on me.

but i agree with you. happiness depends on what makes us happy.

god bless =)

Sometimes, we don't have to stretch our brains too much just to realize the things or memories that can be our source of real happiness.I strongly believe that being happy starts with being contented with what you have. We tend to look at our "imperfections" - namely our failures, bad experiences and those things that we want to achieve. We usually overlook those blessings that we receive in life. What is worse is that those things that we overlook are the most essential things in life. The fact that God gave you the chance TO LIVE is the most precious blessing that you will ever have. But dude, God doesn't only gave you that damn CHANCE but something even MORE.I can see that you have a very supportive family. You're pretty well - off. You study in a very good school (I believe that Atenean education is the best!). At your young age, you already have a work. A lot of people like you . You belong to the smartest section. You graduated First Honors. You have such a BEAUTIFUL MIND. And many more. There's no reason for you to be sad for you have lots of blessings in life. All you gotta do is be grateful about them, be contented with them, and share them to those in need. I believe that by simply doing that, you will be truly happy without exhausting your brain too much. I'm sorry if I sound like I'm preaching. This is just my way of expressing what I feel right now. Good luck to you and more power!

well said entry.

i've learned something a year ago about happiness. Happiness (kasiyahan) is made by happenings or events in ourlives. So i prefer the last word on your title, joy. Joy (kaligayahan) remains whether there's something good/bad happening in your life, or whether you're in a good/bad situation. (",)

Nakakatuwa lang, i-rally natin ang mga ganitong pagiisip.

"upon the education of this country, the fate of this country depends -benjamin disraelli"
-nakakatuwang isipin may mga kabataan pang tulad mo. Pagigihan mo pa lalo. Not only excellence in mind but also the heart! Com' on!

maybe happiness is a mixture of organized and cluttered moments of our life because if not, our life would be a bunch of wednesdays. That would be boring... and I'd rather over-think than think-less... hahaha how about you? Life is wonderful but it doesn't mean it's always fun.

nice blog by the way. very profound.

You are indeed one of those few showbiz personalities na matatawag na "intellectuals". You are the youths' role model. Keep it up. By the way, I've just watched Pilipinas Game Ka na Ba and i was so thankful i chanced upon you. You see, i dont get to watch TV nowadays as much as i did when you were still in Big Brother's house..but seeing u once in a good while is enough to make my day. Good Luck and God Bless you in all your undertakings.
