Prove pare! Prove!

You're not a snowman unless you're made of snow.
You're not a fruit unless you have seeds.
You're not a ball unless you're round.

You're not an athlete until you have a sport.
You're not a lawyer until you've done a case.
You're not a politician until you win for a position.

You're not God unless you've done what He's done, and is doing what He's doing.

You're not smart unless you have the grades.
You're not rich unless you have the money.
You're not poor unless you're suffering.
You're not tough unless you've been in a fistfight.
You're not good unless you've done something good, or avoided something bad.

You haven't helped unless you've given something.

The point here is this: you're never something unless you can prove it. Something has to point to what you are. Even a fact has to be proven true.

That's just the way it is. Yes, it would have been easier if we didn't have to prove anything, if we didn't have to show anyone something that will make them nod in approval, if we didn't have to try. But when that long-awaited moment comes, what will we all be? Empty, with nothing to work for. We won't even have to do our best, but we'll be empty.

Thank God that we have to prove, for we work harder for what we want to achieve, end up helping more people along the way, and achieve something greater than what we really deserve.

"You're not rich unless you have the money."- Mikee Lee

that's not true!! being rich isn't just about money...you can be rich in other ways and treat other things as your riches...like your family and friends..yuck..ang sentimental..but i get the point of your whole post though!! i just disagree with that statement... :p

I get what you're saying. At least you get the point. It's just for building up the essay.

fabgelous: that statement makes sense if you take it literally. if the word rich there refers to money, so there, You're not rich unless you have the money. HAHAHA

mikee: THOUGH I think "You're not smart unless you have the grades." is not at all true. I know a lot of people who suck at school but are in fact really smart people. Wise kumbaga. Meron lang mga tamad talagang mag aral

Hehehe anyway... wala lang

Why do you have to prove things out who you, yourself KNOWS who you really are and what are the things you can do.

Proving is for the insecured ones. For the ones who has got nothing but IMAGE.

"You're not smart unless you have the grades."
- you don't have to have THE grades in order to say you're smart.. getting the grades is not just about the brains.. it has to be fueled with passion and determination to succeed.. i even know people who are not as smart as people think they are but achieve high grades because of their determination. but in a way, i guess you're right. if you choose to be determined in succeeding in school, then you are smart, right? hehe.. labo! bloghopping lang..

Nice one. Although some of your points, if not taken literally, would have downsides. But it entertained me, nonetheless. :)

mikee i beg to disagree with the line your smart unless you have grades...huh!!! its a stupid statement. Grades is not a reflection of how smart a person is...maybe it depicts intelligence but smartness is another thing...

You're not smart unless you have the grades.

Not true. I know smart people who don't have the grades. I also know not-very-smart people who have the grades.

Grades are a very poor measure of intelligence.

yeah, the statement about having grades to be smart is shallow. Well, that's just one case, and it wasn't meant to generalize everything. Kasi when people don't know who you really are, they can only describe u according to the shallow/material things they see, like grades.. Thanks for the comments!

I'm quite bored; this is apparent in the contents of this comment.

"The point here is this: you're never something unless you can prove it. Something has to point to what you are. Even a fact has to be proven true." - Actually, you're not something if you do not fit into its objective definition (should such exist). And wtf, facts don't need to be proven true. They already are proven to be true. Effing tautologies.

"You're not a lawyer until you've done a case.
You're not a politician until you win for a position."
"You're not God unless you've done what He's done, and is doing what He's doing." - Wrong. Accomplishments are wholly unrelated to the definition of a being. If the bird hasn't flown, it doesn't mean that it isn't a bird.

"You're not good unless you've done something good, or avoided something bad." - HAHA, if only you knew the implication held therein. It'd demolish Christianity as is.

And it amuses me that other beings actually understand that intelligence is not to be equivocated with effort. WOOT @gab.

Yeah, we have to prove stuff. Too bad god's too enbroiled in sloth to prove himself.

hello! it's my first time here in your blog.. your entry amused me so much.. i quite agree on the statement: "You're not smart unless you have the grades" because my grades are so low. It actually depends on our own points of view.. I really exert too much effort just to make my grades highbut too bad, it's not working..
