Hey guys our orientation seminar in school just started, and I've been busy after school doing different things, so I haven't really had time to make a real entry. By the end of this weekend though, expect a new post, and expect your links to be put up already. If I forget to link your blog, please remind me. Please look into the comments section for replies on your relevant comments. Thanks so much! I'm so happy school's starting! College na! Any tips from those who have gone through it?

Hmm.. Tips..? well..
3. as much as possible, don't engage muna with organizations. cguro mas advisable na magjoin ng 2nd sem kasi by that time, nakapag-adapt ka na sa college life.
4. hndi ko alam kung pareho tayo pero sobrang stress ang nakuha ko nung 1st year ako.. haha. kaya always remember to take good care of urself. (sana na-gets mo, auko n magexplain e) hehe..

Choose the tough but reasonable teachers, the legends - the ones that will really challenge you to learn and grow.

Remember that learning does not only happen in the classroom. Be active in extracurricular activities early on (freshman year).

Don't be afraid to take chances and make mistakes. It's your chance to grow as a leader without the risk of life-altering repercussions (except if you flunk out of college, but you're smart enough not to let that happen).

Enjoy it as much as you can :) I still look back on my college days (not so long ago, mind you) as the best times of my life so far. Good luck!

college ka na!!:D congrats, well, sana gusto mo yung course na napili mo, kasi that's the number one rule para magsurvive ka sa college... kelangan yu like what you do para hindi ka tamarin mag-aral.:D sa umpisa, mahirap kasi may adjusting stage pa. pero mawawala rin yan agad.

sa college, marami kang maeengkuwentrong tao. iba-ibang ugali at mga pananaw sa buhay. just be yourself at learn to respect other people's lifestyle and opinions.

yun...:D hahaha...

ay, oonga pala...
kelangan mo ng time-management. tsaka try to read in advance.:D hahahaha.

basta ayun!
good luck sa college!:D
kaya mo yan!:D

Ejay won.

Oo nga, PBB is not primarily a charity show pero who are you to criticize people's standards for choosing their big winner? Everyone has their own reasons, myriads of them. Wala namang sinabi kung ano yung criteria for a big winner. Hindi naman yan presidente ng Pilipinas. Respect other people's freedom and judgment. If voters chose Ejay because he deserves the prizes more, then be happy that at least people are using PBB as an opportunity for them to be men for others.

Robi is already blessed with an environment where his talents and character are recognized on a large scale. Isn't it great that someone like Ejay, who is limited by his social status, gets the same recognition for his character and values? That's something he'll never probably get if it weren't for Big Brother.

Just because poor people win doesn't make PBB a charity show. Please don't generalize people's reasons. Remember that Wendy was from the squatter's area but she didn't win because people didn't like her character then.
You should also learn to look beyond a person's social status.

Mikee said...

hey atenista,

the whole time i have been publishing my very own opinions, opinions that i feel i can share with others, which come from the perspective of someone who experienced the reality show firsthand. I am not criticizing the show, but I have the right to give my own opinions about it, just like you do. Please don't take that away from me. I respect your opinion, and I hope you respect mine too.=) God bless you. Make a blog yo, you seem to like writing.

i loved my freshman year. super close ko sa block ko nun grabe. (I was a freshie in 2003) I wasn't stressed at all, but I guess it would be different for you since you're an M.E. student.

Yup enjoy and easy lang Mikee. Are you still part of ADS even in college?

Did you get a good random number?

And goodluck with all your professors!

On another note, I'm sad Robi lost. Ginawa nilang charity show ang PBB. Hay nako, if they're in it for the money, they shouldve joined wowowee instead. I hate this, hindi pumasok ang ibang votes ko. Nangyari rin to before when I was voting for you, Mikee! Haha.

Anonymous said...

ei Mikee, are u taking the course you enrolled in in preparation for a higher degree later like med or law? If you are, your really got to take it seriously.. I know it's a lil bit early for this advice but it still counts as one. hehe!

Sabi mo nga, life is short.. Balance is the key.. :D Everything in excess is bad. Just deal with things one at a time. :) College years is most people's best times.. :) Enjoy yours..

stay alive

-mheech. wow.what a tip. ;)

Everyone is entitled to exercise their freedom to give opinions. Well, I go for Mikee's side because as we all know, the past seasons' winners were all in need of money. People don't really take time to get to know a person better. PBB is there to showcase the traits of the Filipino people and not primarily to make someone rich or an instant celebrity. Kung lagi nga naman ganon ang system ng tao sa pagpili ng big winner, they shouldn't let the well-off people join the show in the first place. :) Just sharing my opinion.

Well, masasabi ko lang, as early as your first year, mag-engage ka na sa extra-curricular activities since maraming orgs sa school. At, ENJOY! Kaya yan :)See you in school tho hindi mo naman ako kilala. :) Haha.

Hey Mikee! Being an Atenean myself, here are some tips. :)

1. Enjoy! :) That's one thing that would make your college life worth it. :)

2. ME's LTs are tough. Pero I think you can do it. When you reach 3rd year, tatawagin na nila kayong SMEG (Sure ME Graduates.)

3. I think it would be really helpful if you join ORGANIZATIONS. It is the facet that completes your college life. I mean, college life is not really just acads. And having an org gives you a certain experience that no subject or "showbiz" stuff can give you. :)

If you fail, you cannot take Philo 102 if you don't pass 101, and 103 and 104. And since they don't offer summer classes for Philo, you have to stay for another year if you fail one Philo subject. :(

5. ALWAYS WEAR YOUR ID!!! Especially if may guards around. Do not hide it sa bag mo. And don't lose it, kasi it would be such a hassle if you lose it.

That's all. I hope that helps! - Dawn :)

Hey Mikee! Being an Atenean as well, some tips...

1. Wear your ID. ALWAYS.

2. Join an ORG. It will be a facet that completes your college life.

3. Do not FAIL Philo. Any Philo class. (We would take 4.) You will extend one year in case you fail.)

4. Enjoy your stay! Make the most out of the Ateneo life. :)

5. Get to know your blockmates. They are the people you would be ranting to during hell weeks/hell MONTHS. :)

ENJOY! :)

hey mikee!

enjoy your freshman year. at dont get confused between Berchmans (B) and Bellarmine (BEL). Haha. Bellarmine is near ISO, and High School.

join orgs din! fun! basta have fun! haha! good luck!

Being a freshie is tough. Especially when you are from another place. I study 6 hours bus ride away from my hometown. Mahirap pero maging friendly ka lang. Wala ng hiya hiya. Haha!

Anyways, I saw this in Yahoo!. This video is very interseting/disturbing. I think it's worth blogging. Sa tingin ko lang naman. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oj6SZgbBuSQ

Mikee, request. Link mo naman ako. Hehe! Thanks. :D

Hi Mikee! Napadaan lang ako sa blog mo. :)

Sad.) sa isang state u. Hehe. :)
(Kahit magkaiba ang school natin...)

-ID. Importante yun. :)

-Wag kayong magkumpul-kumpol ng mga new friends/blockmates mo pag kakain sa labas or something. Nahahalatang freshies kayo. Hehe.

-Get to know your blockmates at coursemates.

-Dapat marami kang coins. Pambayad sa photocopy. Haha.

-Join orgs.

Haha.

-LAST. :)

Ayun lang. Nakakatuwa basahin ang blog mo.

College? I think it's basically similar to starting at a new school. It's just that in college there's more freedom and an equal amount of responsibilities. Folks tend to be lenient and a bit strict at the same time.
You'd need to be more flexible with your personality but not forgetting to sticking to who you really are. It's fine to just go with the flow but you should know your limitations as well.

Anyway, I've read some of your entries and I must say that I love reading them, just couldn't understand the other entries, not really familiar with your language LOL.
Hope you could visit my blog as well. ;)

HI mikee...you can call me ate ceejz...wow freshmen... 1st year of college life...miss those days kakagraduate ko lang ng college eh...first year hindi naman sa pagmamayabang pro easy lang yan puro basics siyempre...hindi pa hectic at toxic ang schedules saka activities and homeworks... but as you progress to another level mapa semester or year level... the more it gets harder-hectic-toxic scheds and loads of responsibilities... kaya enjoy mo ang pagiging freshmen have fun...gumimik ka na ng gumimik ngayong first year hehe...I bet you met a lot of new people with different personalities o your adjusting to a coed classmates...kagaya ko I never thought that I will survive an all girls school coming from a coed school nung high school at runned by sisters pa =) don't choose kung sino lang gusto mo maging kaibigan...learn how to makisama, accept and respect that person kahit na hindi jives yung personality mo sa kanya...well hope you get to know lahat ng ka batchmates mo because till the end kayo ang magkakasama... close kayo o hindi lahat basta there is unity that is the key of success in your batch...but then there are some along the way na mawawala baka hindi nila naabot yung cut off grade requirement to pass - it's sad but then you've got to move on - as a batch kayo-kayo ang magtutulungan through ups and downs. I hope that whatever course that you took it is what you want and ikaw ang pumili...ako nag nursing ako kasi wala ako maisip na course noon at akala ko walang math hehe but then as years pass by with all the learnings and experiences in the hospitals I've learned to love it. I hope that you'll learn to love or love more whatever your course may be. BUT the IMPORTANT LEARNINGS OR COMMENT THAT I want to leave you is that:
WITHOUT GOD - YOU CAN'T SURVIVE LIFE especially in college!
failures...temptations...doubts... fears...yan yung mga ma-encounter mo. you might feel empty even though you've got your family, friends but somehow you still feel incomplete... you may know God but do you have that personal relationship with him? My hope and my prayer is that you'll have that personal relationship with him which will give you the joy in life helps you to enjoy college life.
--> join an organization which is not that related to your course if possible so as to have different and expand your knowledge and experience like RCYC
--> TIME MANAGEMENT is important
--> be proud of your program/college but be friends also with student from other programs/colleges... kahit saang school ka be proud kahit na hindi kilala katulad ko I'm proud that I'm a PAULINIAN graduate from St. Paul University Manila and am proud to be included in an exclusive last batch of women.
--> be humble...and whatever achievements, any gold medals, acknowledgement gain...and whatever you do. May you give all the glory and honor back to our father in heaven
=> ang haba ng comment ko well i don't have any brother...eh gustong gusto ko pa naman ng brother kaya ako nag comment. hope you check-out my blog ala pa akong blog dito sa blogspot. ceejz.multiply.com or
tin-jonah.blogger.com
--> God bless you on your college life. Ey have you heard about Every nation campus ministry in your campus? meh org bang ganun sa inyo? If you heard from L.A Mumar or Joseph Bonifacio they're atenista alumnae but still there in your campus...if you've got any problem or questions you can come to them.

I graduate a year ago... The most important thing I've learned is that follow what your passion is... Don't choose a course dahil sabi ng parents mo or what is in... Passion is equivalent to happiness and enjoyment.. Tips? I'm from tarlac and I studied in Baguio.. 1.)try to balance study and your social life para you won't miss any experience 2.) value time 3.)always know your limitations 4.)study hard 5)just be yourself.. Everything will be fine.. Just know your priorities or goals and work hard to achieve it...

Mikee, enjoy everything about college . Yun lang. And everything will fall into place. :) Manage your time well also. And you don't need to get serious all the time.. find time to play, catch up with friends. I deferred mid-application to orgs, yet I was able to enjoy college. It pays to be in an org though.
>medyo anti-social kasi ako.<

just enjoy college.

P.S.
I am enjoying your blog. Very intersting. Pero minsan, mag-loosen-up ka din.. talk about your own self. Minsan nakaka-intimidate basahin yung posts.

Where do you usually hangout sa Katipunan? Sana makita kita minsan. XD
